Cloud Compliance & Host Management

A Python platform and Windows/Linux Go agent that bring cloud inventory, assessment, reporting, and reviewed host administration into a shared operational workflow.

Problem

Cloud operations work often spans separate inventory tools, assessment exports, host-management consoles, and evidence records. Engineers need to connect the current state of a resource with its findings, review decisions, administrative actions, and change history.

Implemented capabilities

  • Cloud inventory, configuration assessment, accepted findings, and reporting.
  • Cost allocation and network and firewall analysis to support operational review.
  • Windows and Linux host inventory, baseline assessment, and administrative terminals.
  • Reviewed administrative commands, patch policies and schedules, role permissions, and audit history.

Application and agent architecture

The Python application provides the operational workflows, while a Go agent implements host-side functions for Windows and Linux. The cloud design uses ECS controller and gateway services with DynamoDB and S3. Authenticated agent communication and role permissions govern access to administrative operations.

Cloud and host functions share an interface while retaining explicit review and audit records around changes. Private source, environment data, and deployment details stay outside the public portfolio.

Release engineering and validation

The work includes signed release packaging, software bills of materials, automated tests, local checks, and selected virtual-machine validation. Packaging and release evidence are part of the implementation, alongside the application and agent behavior.

Broader operating-system coverage, fleet behavior, and live AWS qualification remain open. The current evidence supports an implemented platform under active development; it does not establish production readiness across a deployed fleet.

Engineering value

The project connects cloud architecture, application development, operating-system integration, security controls, and release engineering. It demonstrates the work needed to turn recurring administrative tasks into a maintainable platform with visible validation and operating limits.
